Shipbuilding

In April 2014, the United States navy disclosed the installation of 3D printer on the “USS Essex” aircraft carrier. In July, Maersk Tankers announced the plan to use 3D printers to manufacture some marine spare parts of container vessels to accelerate the troubleshooting process of equipment.

3D printing can be applied to print spare parts, simplifying the supply chain; it can also be used to produce models for the verification and design improvement when designing a ship. Other applications include manufacturing marine engines; manufacturing small-batch and tailored auxiliary products for vessels; supplying spare parts at the operation stage; manufacturing carrier-based drones, unmanned marine vehicles and even small boats.

Techgine is able to print: integrated manufacturing of complex parts, ship model and impeller, etc.
